Hypnosis FAQ

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis (hypnotherapy) is a safe and effective way to create the desired change in life. Hypnotic trance is a state of selective and focused attention, active imagination, and heightened suggestibility. It creates a bypass of critical thinking and initiates a process of rapid learning of more effective behavioral patterns. In other words, it allows you to put self-doubt and criticism aside while putting you on a path towards positive transformation.

We are frequently experiencing hypnotic states, without even realizing it. During everyday activities like driving, reading, playing games, or watching TV, we concentrate deeply on one activity and enter an altered state of mind that operates mostly on the subconscious level.

Can anyone be hypnotized?

Yes, nearly any person of average or high intellect can be hypnotized. The key is to approach the experience with an open mind and be willing to follow the guidance into a hypnotic state.

If you decide to insist that you can not be hypnotised/relaxed/focused etc., you will be absolutely right as you always are. ;-) Your firm statements, proclaimed with conviction and connected with emotional charge are indeed your self-hypnosis. Are you ready to learn how to change your story and create the life you always wanted?

Is hypnosis dangerous?

The only 'danger' is the misconception that hypnosis is magic and that somebody can change your life without your participation. A hypnotist is not a magician who can change your life with the snap of her fingers. Even though hypnotic suggestions make powerful transformation possible, without a client's full commitment to the change, this result will only be temporary. You have to be determined and ready to move forward. Hypnosis helps to make it happen easier and faster.

A hypnotherapist should not attempt to work with an individual who has a serious physical or psychological condition without collaboration with a medical specialist. It is important to use hypnosis as a supplemental treatment, not a primary one.

Does hypnotist control my mind?

A hypnotist does not control you. In fact, hypnosis helps you to improve your own control in life. You receive a guidance to enter a hypnotic trance with a help of a hypnotist who serves as a guide and a facilitator of the process for creating the desired change.

Some people are afraid they may compromise their values while being "under the power" of a hypnotist. Contrary to this, you remain fully in control throughout the session. Rest assured, if any suggestion goes against your will, you can either come out of trance and stop the session or just ignore the suggestion.

Remember, you are always in control!
